Center for Lifelong Learning at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor
The Center for Lifelong Learning at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor, was established as part of the project "Implementation of a Supportive Environment for Lifelong Learning for Sustainable Engineering (Green2Eng)." The project is funded by the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, and the European Union through the EU Next Generation Fund. It is part of the European Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) and runs from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2025.
Our goal is to reduce the mismatch between graduates' skills and labor market needs, with a focus on sustainable engineering, green transformation, and digital advancement. Through the project, we aim to develop flexible educational pathways that include micro-credentials—short, targeted training programs tailored to the rapid changes in the labor market. This initiative is designed to help both students and industry professionals upgrade their existing knowledge, thereby contributing to the sustainable and digital transformation of society.
The Center is located in Building B of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, offering a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment intended to connect students, professors, industry experts, and the broader community. The Center focuses on four key pillars:
- Promoting STEAM careers,
- Supporting career development,
- Developing micro-credentials, and
- Openly engaging individuals who seek continuous learning and knowledge enhancement.
Join us on the journey to shaping a future where knowledge, innovation, and sustainability are the central pillars of our society. For more information, contact us at
